Re: NAVIGATION IN DANISH WATERS – IMO Recommendations as

Per MSC Resolution 138 (76) on navigation in the entrances to the Baltic Sea

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) recently received the attached letter (annex A) from the Danish Maritime Authority on the subject of International Maritime Organisation (IMO) recommendations on navigation in the entrances to the Baltic Sea.  The IMO recommendations may be found at MSC resolution MSC 138(76)  and this is attached at annex B.

The Great Belt is part of the Baltic Sea, and its narrow straits are congested and difficult to navigate and is a particularly sensitive sea area and highly vulnerable to groundings, collisions and consequently oil pollution.  In the event that your vessel(s) is/are likely to be trading to the Baltic Sea, we hope you will find this information helpful.
